Story

Tanhaji: The Story of the Unsung Warrior: The film traces the life of the Maratha warrior, Tanaji Malusare, who was one of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's closest allies and a military leader. It focuses on the famous Battle of Sinhagad (February 4, 1670), in which Tanhaji was seen taking Udaybhan, the Rajputs who fought against the Marathas for Aurangzeb.

Reviews

Under the treaty of Purandar, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (Sharad Kelkar) handed over 23 forts including Kondhana (now called Sinhagad) to Aurangzeb (Luke Kenny), which was of strategic importance. Rajmata Jijabai (Padmavati Rao) swore that she would walk barefoot until the Marathas captured the fort. Four years later, Aurangzeb sent Udaybhan (Saif Ali Khan) a huge army and a huge cannon named 'Nagin', to ensure that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj could not reclaim the fort. While Shivaji Maharaj is planning an expedition, he does not want to send his trusted lieutenant and dear friend, Subedar Tanhaji Malusare, to the battlefield, as the latter's son is about to get married. When Tanhaji learns about ha mohim '(campaign), he implores Shivaji Maharaj to give him a chance to win the Kondhana. His wife, Savitribai (Kajol) proves his silent strength. Despite the evil intentions of some people, such as Pisal (Ajinkya Dev), Tanhaji manages to make it an inaccessible place in the fort. A fierce battle ensues in which Tanji fights the deadly Udayabhan. While the story is known, many creative freedoms have been taken to grab the audience's attention.

Ajay Devgan is playing the role of the brave Maratha warrior, Tanaji, with all his might. He powers with subtlety and restraint while maintaining a passion for patriotism at all times. Kajol as Tanitha's strong and supportive wife, Savitribai, calculates her limited screen time with a limited performance. Saif as Udayabhan; He reveals his character's cruelty and satanic streak with cunning and ruthlessness. In the moments of his wicked insanity, he actually adds a bit of humor to the scene, while breaking himself into a sinister laugh. This is one of Saif's most outstanding performances. Another main point of the film is the casting of the main characters. Chhatrapati sees Sharad Kelkar as Shivaji Maharaj and brings the necessary gravity for the part of the warrior-king.

Director Om Raut shows a flair for storytelling in his first Hindi film. He maintains a strong grip on the film and balances the emotions and drama with tact. The controversial 'Ghorpad' (monitor lizard) angle has been given a twist in the film by historians. There is a liberal use of CGI, which is basically merged into the narrative. This helps to mount the film on a scale that was needed to create a solid effect. The action - and obviously sword fighting, slicing, rang - is designed (by action director Ramzan Bulut) and is shot efficiently and aesthetically and is a visual treat. Although the film was not actually required to be made in 3D format, some scenes stand out.

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior scores on various counts - superior performance, powerful action, visual effects and above all, it evokes a story from the pages of history that must be told with such intensity, passion and passion. needed. .
